In an unexpected twist in the fight for even just crums of info regarding Nintendo's highly-anticipated Switch successor, Dbrand, a company well-known for making cases for devices such as phones & gaming handhelds, has supposedly gone ahead and revealed their case for the Switch 2, revealing its design in the process.

Not The First Time We've Seen Switch 2

Most will already know that this is not the first time we've gotten our hands on images of the Switch 2. Leaks have been rampant, from factory design sketches to outright real videos of it. It seems that every other week we get a new look at the Switch successor's design Nintendo has been trying to keep wrapped.

The Switch 2 "Killswitch" Case

On the official Dbrand page for it, linked here, you can see a 3D render of the case, and what is supposedly the Switch 2 itself inside. There is also a field to receive email updates regarding this case.

Dbrand's CEO told Insider Gaming that the design in the case on their website is indeed the Switch 2's official design. If true, it would mean that the Switch 2 is disappointingly identical to the original Switch in a lot of ways, from the look of the joycons to the red/blue/black coloring. We have known Nintendo for always going different with designs, but nowadays it feels like Switch 2 is just a glorified Switch Pro.

When Will Nintendo Officially Reveal It?

There is currently no knowledge on this aside from Nintendo themselves confirming it will come before April 2025. It is becoming more and more less likely that it will happen during the few remaining weeks of 2024, so we should expect it anytime in January, February, or March.

As for an actual release date for the Switch 2 itself, that could happen anytime from summer 2025 to the holidays. We will just have to wait and see what Nintendo has been cooking up.
